This is predominantly a rivermouth break, South East of Porthcawl. Access can be from Newton Beach or from Ogmore beach depending on the tide.

You can also surf the beach here - depending on the tide - and low tide can offer decent sandbanks between here and Southerndown.

It needs a swell above three feet to work and is only really any good on a clean swell at high tide.

This place is not for beginners.

The area is very tidal and a strong rip operates off the river mouth. Parking and a surf lifesaving club are nearby.
